Historical Note:

Arthur S. Jackson was born in 1870 in Middletown, New York, educated in the Chicago Public Schools.  He married Louise Burkhardt in 1895 and they had one son, A. Stanley Jackson.  Jackson died September 28, 1933 in New York, shortly after returning from a trip to Europe. His address when he died was 70 Scott Street. 

At the time of his death Jackson was senior partner of Jackson Brothers & Boesel, a New York and Chicago brokerage firm.  Arthur Jackson began his career in lumber; he was secretary and treasurer of the Badger & Jackson company in Green Bay, WI, until 1905.  He then launched the firm of Jackson Bros. & Co. that year, a commission brokerage business.  The name was changed in 1928.  Jackson was a member of the Chicago Board of Trade, the New York Produce Exchange, the New York Curb Exchange, and the New York Stock Exchange.  His clubs included the Chicago club, the Chicago Athletic Association, and the Attic club. 

He was buried at Oakwoods Cemetery September 30, 1933.
